A Rural Retreat with a Gentle Sea Breeze

Warcombe Farmhouse is a rural retreat perfect for large family holidays or special occasions.

Approached via its own private farm track, Warcombe Farmhouse sits within an acre of green lawns, enclosed by established trees and pretty hedgerows. As the path meanders down through the garden towards the farmhouse, take a side-way glance towards the sea and watch as the boats sail by. On a clear day the glistening blue sea vanishes into the sky on the horizon.

A stunning porch framed by flowers and trees is the grand entrance to this splendid house. A stable-door adds a touch of rural character, and during the summer months is an added bonus for letting the warm breeze sweep through the house, filling it with the smell of cut grass and blossoming flowers.

Full of Rustic Charm

Through the arched porch and internal door is the large fully equipped kitchen. At the heart of this room is the home-made dining room table. Saved during the renovation and cleverly transformed into a beautiful table worthy of any meal are three original floor-boards. This stunning addition to the room adds a touch of stylish country living to this impressive room and, combined with the flag stone floors and wood beams, the room is the epitome of a country kitchen.

Neatly fitted round one side of the room are the wooden kitchen units, home to an array of cutlery, crockery and pots and pans - nothing has been forgotten. Integrated into the kitchen is an electric oven and hob, fridge with separate freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.

For the cook in the family who likes a little back-ground music or entertainment a CD player is handily positioned on the large windowsill and a TV is located in the corner.

Curl Up and Drift Away

Next door to the kitchen is the enormous lounge. Flooded by light from the two south facing windows, the living room has a warm fun feel. Located in the part of the house that was originally the barn, the room has been tastefully renovated and decorated to mix old and new. Contemporary artwork adds a splash of colour to the neutral walls and three fat sofas and three squishy armchairs are wonderful places to curl up and relax. The farmhouse has under-floor heating running throughout downstairs, making it a warm and toasty home to return to on even the frostiest of evenings. A wood-burner in the lounge adds to the rural ambience and creates a lovely fiery glow.

The lounge has a large TV with Freesat and DVD player, so after a day exploring it is easy to kick off your shoes and unwind. If the weather does turn grey and venturing out seems unlikely, a series of board games are provided to keep children and adults alike entertained.

Sleep Soundly With Only The Sound of the Sea Breeze Through the Trees

In the original part of the house is the first of the two double bedrooms. At night, snuggle-up under the duvet and appreciate the silence that the countryside enjoys as you drift into an undisturbed slumber. The bedroom is well furnished with chest-of-drawers and wardrobe, so there is no need to worry about where to store your holiday clothes.

Where Dreams Come True

Children will love the colourful triple bedroom with full-sized bunk beds and single bed. Bright colourful bed linen and curtains stand out against the neutral walls, and the low window seat is a great place to read a book on a quiet afternoon as sunlight pours in touching every corner of the room. At night parents will love the comfortable bedside chair for telling bedtime stories.

After a Day on the Beach Sleep Tight in Country Comfort

Opposite the double and triple bedroom is the main family bathroom. This large room is sparkling and clean. After a day walking the coastal path there is no better place to relish a relaxing bubble bath than the bathroom. A separate shower cubicle is also an additional bonus especially for washing sandy feet. The bathroom also has his and hers sinks with their own mirrors, and a toilet. A heated towel rail guarantees the room stays warm.

In the converted section of the house are two further bedrooms. At the end of the corridor is the second double bedroom. This comfortable well appointed room is perfect for a sound night's sleep. Central to the room is the double bed with crisp bed linen. Ample storage is also provided with a large wardrobe and two bedside cabinets. The low window sill is perfect for sitting and admiring the breath-taking views.

This double bedroom also has its own door leading to the shower room next door. Lock the door to the corridor in the bathroom and the double bedroom becomes an en-suite.

The shower room is very simple with a built in shower with fixed shower-head, toilet and sink. It also has a heated towel rail, so towels remain warm and dry.

Tumble out of bed in the twin bedroom and draw back the curtains to reveal the mesmerising view of undisturbed Devonshire countryside. This cute bedroom is wonderful for adults or children with two full size single beds providing a heavenly night's sleep. There is also plenty of storage space with a large wardrobe and chest-of-drawers in the room. Blue curtains and bed linen add a smidgeon of colour to this otherwise neutral room.

A separate toilet with built in shower cubicle is also located on the first floor. This extra room is great for when the other bathrooms are busy.

A Magical Garden for Children or a Place of Your Own to Relax

Warcombe Farmhouse has a large sweeping lawn framed by mature trees and hedgerows. Children especially will love the garden as there is lots of space to run around and kick a football. Hide and seek will also become a firm favourite as the youngsters discover secret hideaways behind walls and bushes. Adults will adore the sun loungers; carefully positioned beside the house they are sheltered from any cool breeze. Warcombe Farmhouse also has a gas BBQ, which is perfect for summer evenings in the garden. A table with chairs is perfectly placed at the top of the lawn to allow for alfresco dinners with a stunning backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean.
